Selfcatering, Longterm House
Vila Boa (Mortagua). Sleeps up to: 5, 6

Situated to the north of central Portugal, this is a recently renovated, attractive and traditional Portuguese house which has 3 bedrooms (2 double, 1 ensuite) a large open plan living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and distant views of the mountainous Serra d'Arganil from its balcony.The house is available both for short term, and long term let (with effect from the end of October 2011).

The house is in a village called Vila Boa (or 'Good Village') which is 8 minutes away from the nearest market town, Mortagua where there are excellent restaurants and a good range of amenities.

Casa do Limão is 20 minutes away from the famous Spa town of Luso, which nestles at the edge of the beautiful Bucaco National park (complete with Palace) and 30 minutes away from the vibrant and historic city of Coimbra.

There are numerous 'river beaches' in the area, and the Silver coast - Figueira da Foz, is an hour away - very popular with surfers and sun seekers.

The house provides a perfect base for those who love walking, beautiful scenery, a rich and varied cultural experience, and socialising with the friendly and generous local people.

The light and airy lounge diner has a TV with DVD player and limitted satelitte TV.There is comfortable seating and a selection of books and DVDs to help in relaxing over a glass or two of local wine! There is internet access for those who need it and the house has central heating, with water heated by solar power.

There is seating for 6 people at the refectory table and the kitchen, which is newly fitted, has a double oven and gas hob, an integrated dishwasher, large fridge and ample crockery and cooking utensils. There is also an Oak larder unit for food and wine storage.

Upstairs, the property has 2 double rooms, one with a kingsize bed, the other with an antique mahogany double bed. Bedding is provided for use during your stay.

The remaining bedroom has a single bed; on request there is provision for a further bed with a single 'guest' put up bed and spare bedding.

The double room is ensuite with a large shower, two wash basins and toilet, and has a double door to the small outside balcony from which there are pretty views of the village and distant mountain range of the Serra d'Estrela - a perfect place for eating breakfast and watching the world go by.

The family bathroom on the same floor has a bath, over-bath shower, a wash basin and toilet. Both bathrooms are provided with towels for use by guests.

Outside, through either of the double patio doors, there is a large cobbled courtyard area with a variety of trees, garden furniture for eating 'alfresco', and a large barn which, apart from providing shade in the summer months, has a large and original bread oven, a games room complete with pool and football tables, a utility room with a washing machine. There is outside lighting for both the house and barn making it possible to use the courtyard as an additional living space in the evenings as well as the daytime!

The courtyard area itself is completely enclosed, and has steps to the garden area below, which is laid to grass and has a variety of fruit bearing trees including oranges, figs, peaches, pears and of course olives. The garden area is bordered by grape vines.

Casa do Limão is self catering accomodation.

We can arrange for fresh morning rolls to be delivered daily upon request.

The closest bar serving snacks/meals is a 5 minute drive there are numerous retaurants within a 10 minute drive.

There is parking for 2 cars at the rear of the barn.

There is also a 'plunge pool' available which is 2.2 metres in diameter - perfect for cooling off on hot days!
