Recently refurbished 2 bedroomed cottage with swimming pool, set in a walled courtyard garden on a family smallholding. A beautiful place to rest and relax, or to explore Central Portugal.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you from the family at Casa Nogueira.

The cottage is set on the outskirts of the hisoric village of Picha, and is surrounded by 3 acres of mixed woodland and a 2 acre olive grove with grapevines, fruit trees and a vegetable garden. The family smallholding is also host to an abundance of birdlife and wildlife and is a place for both rest and relaxation or to explore beautiful Central Portugal.

The family live in the old farmhouse and will respect your privacy, but will be on hand should you require any assistance.

We are situated mid-way from both Lisbon and Porto airports and within easy reach of the rail links at Pombal.

The accommodation is entered via the courtyard garden, which has a private swimming pool, a patio with covered dining area and built in barbeque. It makes for a perfect place for breakfasts or evening meals.

On entering the cottage you will find a spacious, fully equipped kitchen/diner, which includes a washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment and a wood burner. All cutlery and crockery are provided.

There is 1 double bedroom, and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. There is also a comfortable sofa-bed in the lounge. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe and storage space.

The lounge has a large sofa and armchairs, a log burner for those chilly winter evenings, satellite t.v. and d.v.d. player. We also have a small selection of books and boardgames.

The family bathroom has a large walk in shower, toilet, bidet and wash-hand basin.

Within a short walking distance, there is the village cafe/restaurant, which serves good food and wine at reasonable costs. The main town of Pedrogao Grande has everthing you need for your holiday including; banks, mini-markets, butchers, a weekly farmers market, a cinema, bars, cafes and bus links throughout Portugal.

Activities in the area include; fishing, archery, swimming and watersports. Or for activities of a more gentle nature; walking, photography, painting and sight seeing.
