The Quinta da Alegria is our home , part of which we have converted to provide guest accommodation within this very peaceful Portuguese setting.
We currently have 4 double rooms and 1 twin room available for guests. All have full en-suite shower facilities and are individually furnished to a high standard to ensure your comfortable stay with us.

First and foremost at Quinta Da Alegria we offer 5 individually furnished en-suite rooms, 4 doubles and 1 twin.

There are comfortable chairs & loungers with space to relax and unwind in sunshine or shade.

A communal area in the old barn is set for your relaxation with dining facilities, honesty bar and music system. With our upstairs lounge being warm, dry and cosy, with TV, DVD, Video and music facilities.

As our accommodation is bed and breakfast we provide a well-equipped kitchen for guests to prepare their own additional meals. The use of our bread oven is quite an experience! We also have oven, barbeque and microwave to cover all eventualities.
For those who enjoy a challenge in the evenings we boast an excellent collection of games which can be found behind the bar whatever the weather.

Our pool is 14m in length, enabling a decent swim rather than just a chance to paddle. It is set in a lawned garden and can be used whenever the weather allows.

Symmetry Holistic Therapies located onsite offer Reflexology, Facials, Indian Head Massage and Hopi Ear Candling and various massage treatments.
We also have Archery facilities on-site for the experienced or beginners amongst you.

We comply with the Portuguese law on smoking, which is restricted to outside areas. Additionally, we are a pet-free establishment.

Off-road driving or motor cycling is one of the ultimate tests of driving skills. Following the forest tracks (we will provide maps and suggested routes to get you started) is an adventure all of its own. Bring your own vehicle or have a guided drive in one of ours, it is just as much fun.

In a similar vein there are often locally organised Ciclotourismos for bicycles. At around 30 kilometre each cycle tour, starting off early morning and covering some serious road mileage.
If you prefer to make your own way through the spectacular countryside cycling or walking we can provide you with maps to start you off.
Fishing, horse riding, river canoeing and kayaking are also all within easy access of Carapinha.
February is Carnaval time. The larger events last 4 days and can be lavish indeed.
Between June and October you can enjoy the spectacle of the many Festa's in the area. Each village has its own and they last between 2 and 3 days. Music, dancing , wine and the odd pig roast are on offer. Visitors are always made welcome.
We are located 1hr 40 mins from Porto , 2hr 30 mins from Lisbon or via a spectacular route through northern Spain with a 7hr drive from Santander.

Meals (If Available):
Additional meals can be prepared in the communal kitchen. Alternatively, a local caterer is able to offer a meals-on-site service should you require an evening meal catered specifically for you. Additionally the local well-respected restaurant, the Refugio, opens 6 days a week offering good quality Portuguese meals at very reasonable prices. Being a mere 3 minutes walk it is a 'must visit' during your stay. There are a number of other respected restaurants in the area, within a 30 minute drive radius.

Our room prices reflect the excellent standard of accommodation and facilities offered here - 50 euros per room per night.

If your stay is longer than 3 nights please contact us for discounted rates.
We also offer special rates for groups of 6 or more and for longer term rentals.

A 25% deposit payable by bank transfer will be needed to secure your reservation, the balance payable in Euros at the time of your holiday.

Off-roading driving experience can be offered onsite by FilthyPig Portugal. Prices per half and full day experience.
