A peaceful and picturesque holiday location awaits you at Casa de Pera in the charming village of Mosteiro, close to the market town of Pedrogao Grande in Central Portugal. This area offers the perfect balance of fun for all the family in a truly relaxing environment. With an abundance of nature right outside your door you will soon begin to forget the stresses of everyday life.

The accommodation is set over two floors with the main entrance on the first floor and a further garden entrance on the ground floor. The light and airy open plan living space is on the ground floor with views across the garden, river and woodland surrounding the property. All of the bedrooms are situated on the first floor of the large entrance hallway. There is an additional TV/DVD in bedroom 3 with a large selection of childrens books, DVD's, CD's and a good selection of board games for all the family. The house is also connected to broadband internet and a WIFI connection is available. The house is south facing and the garden is bordered by Olive trees ensuring you can find sun or shade at any time of the day.

The interior accommodation briefly comprises:

Bedroom 3: Views to Village, Childrens Bunk bed, Single bed (converts to double), Built in wardrobes, Electric wall heater, Chest of drawers, TV, DVD, Large selection of games, childrens books and DVD's.

Family Bathroom: Large shower cubicle, WC, Bidet, Basin, Vanity unit, Heated towel rail, Electric heater.

Downstairs is mostly open plan and comprises:

Lounge Area: 2 x Large sofa's ( 1 converts to double bed), Woodburning stove, 32" LCD TV, TV unit, UK Satelite TV reciever, DVD player, Selection of DVD's, 2 x coffee tables, Table lamp, Bookcase with selection of english language books.

Dining Area: Dining table, 4 Chairs, Sideboard, Wine storage unit, CD Player, CD storage unit containing a selection of CD's, Portable gas heater, Air conditioning unit, 2 x Wicker chairs.

Pantry: Storage unit containing extra crockery etc, 2 x foldable dining chairs, childrens high chair, Fire blanket, Fire extinguisher, First aid kit, Vacuum cleaner.

WC: WC, Basin, Vanity unit, Display shelves.

Kitchen: A fully fitted modern kitchen comprising: Gas hob, Electric oven, Extractor fan, Microwave, Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher, Sink, Electric kettle, Electric toaster, Coffee machine. The kitchen also has a full and extensive set of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc.

Utilty room: Gas boiler, Washing machine, Recycling bins, Electric BBQ and stand, Clothes airer, Cleaning utensils.

Outside: From the cool of the open plan lounge, French windows lead out onto a large sunny patio area and a small garden. The patio is equipped with a large dining table and 6 chairs for Al-Fresco dining. Further patio furniture includes a 2 seat sofa, 2 arm chairs and a coffee table providing the perfect place to relax with a glass of local wine. There are both charcoal and electric grill BBQ's available. At the bottom of the garden there are 2 wooden sun loungers in the shade of the peach tree, and a metal gate leading down to the River Terrace. This area has direct access to the river and is an ideal spot for fishing. The river terrace is furnished with a wooden table and 4 chairs.
Casa de Pera doesn't need a swimming pool as one of the best River Beaches in Central Portugal is only 50 metres from our front door. This family friendly river beach has a very shallow end for younger children and a deeper area for swimming. The pool floor is paved and there are pool access steps.

Note: Rates are based on a maximum of 6 sharing. For additional guests a surcharge of £50 per person per week should be applied.

The house is available to rent throughout the year, please contact us for availability. A deposit of 20% (non refundable) is payable to secure your booking, with the full balance payable six weeks prior to your arrival date. A fully refundable 150 Euro breakages deposit is payable upon arrival and will be refunded one week after your departure minus any damage costs. The house is non smoking, although smoking is permitted outside.

The village also offers the choice of 2 restaurants and cafe/bars, the restaurant Sao Pedro serves traditional Portuguese food and wines for around 6 euros per person whilst a little more expensive, but nice for a treat is the restaurant "Lagar do Mosteiro" which serves dinner. The Cafe at the river beach is also open daily in season selling drinks, hot & cold snacks, ice-creams for the children and ice cold beers for the adults! The baker from Pedrogao Grande calls daily and fresh bread/cakes will be delivered to your door as required. A local fishmonger visits the village twice weekly selling a great variety of fresh fish and seafood, perfect for the BBQ.

Mosteiro is a great place for relaxing, after you have visited one of the restaurants or the riverside cafe bar you can stroll back through the village to continue your evening on the terrace watching the nightjars acrobatic flying displays over the river. As night draws in, you will be treated to the sight of a blanket of stars in the clear, unpolluted skies. This area is a haven for birds and wildlife, paradise for nature lovers. For the more energetic, you will find marked trails on your doorstep taking you on wonderful riverside walks or deep into the wooded valleys. This stunning area of central Portugal retains much of the original charm and tranquility of a bygone era.

Mosteiro is approximately 5 mins drive from the nearest main town (Pedrogao Grande) just off the IC8. This area of Central Portugal has a wealth of history and culture, a diverse mix of flora and fauna and is abundantly rich in natural beauty.
