Casa Kismet is our lovely Portuguese home on the edge of Miranda do Corvo, near to Coimbra, Central Portugal. It is the last house before the forest and is very peaceful on a back lane that has little traffic, but within strolling distance of 2 bars and a shop in the village and 30 min walk or 2 min drive to Miranda.

It is perfect for a quiet, secluded getaway or as it's near the N17, fantastic for touring central Portugal and the Beira region.

We have totally reformed a separate building into our spacious self catering unit, Casinha Nova (new house as our builders called it). It is separate from the main house across the sunny courtyard, so it is private, but we are on hand for questions and advice.

The cottage comprises:
* open plan living room, with comfy corner suite, a DVD player with a selection of films, a music system, as well as heating appliances for the cool winter evenings. The foldaway bed can be located in here.
* fully equipped kitchen/diner with cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, iron, coffee maker also a pine table and 4 chairs. The large kitchen window looks out over the long gravel garden and beyond into the forest of Eucalyptus and Pine.
* double bedroom and en-suite shower room with toilet, washbasin and shower.
* the floors are all tiled which are lovely and cool in summer
* wi-fi internet access available 24/7
* off road parking on the gravel drive.

Meals (If Available):
Self catering but a cafe/restaurant is a short stroll away.

Extras (if any):
Wi-fi internet 24/7, communal roof terrace and BBQ and games area.

Prices in euros:
35 euros per night, or 40 euros per night with the foldaway bed.

July and August we have a minimum of 7 nights booking and a 40 euro a night charge (45 with foldaway bed).

For weekly bookings, a deposit of 35 euros is required.

We have a portuguese cat who will have a nosy around, and also a puppy, but she is kept indoors.
