Relax in the sheltered walled patio/garden, late into the night, star gazing. Play games, read, watch a video from our collection. Spend the day walking in the green hills and valleys roundabout, doing the coastal walks, swimming or surfing in the sea; lay on the beach and to the sound of the waves, gaze deep into a rock pool, at low tide. Hunt for ancient fossils. Take shelter from the sun in the cool romantic, green hills of Sintra with its castles and palaces. Go for a guided walk in the Mafra tapada nature reserve... Or go to town: shop for fresh local vegetables, fish or shellfish in the daily market, sample the restaurants of picturesque Ericeira or spend a morning or evening exploring Lisbon.

A full size surf board and a small body board available for lending.

The house uses an energy efficient, thermodynamic, hot water heating system with a 200 litre cylinder, where the water is heated day and night by energy transfer with the ambient temperature via a roof mounted solar panel.

Outside, the front of the house is south-facing and has a verandah running the length of the house, part of which is shaded and another part in the full sunshine.
At the back of the house there is a secluded and sheltered garden, with a covered barbeque area, with a marble sink, and a bread oven. There are tables and chairs and a sun shade. It is totally safe and cut off from the street and is a great play space for children.

Meals (If Available):
A welcome pack of tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk, honey/jam, and (stored in the freezer for freshness) traditional bread and butter will be waiting for you. You can buy free range eggs and fresh locally grown vegetables from neighbours. Ericeira has a wonderful daily market, bakers, cafes, patisseries, restaurants and bars
