Casa Martina Branco is a pretty 3-bedroomed detached house built in traditional Portuguese style with a red-tiled roof, external staircase, shaded courtyard and huge garden.

It is secluded but not isolated - set among vines, fields, woods and orange groves on the edge of the hamlet of Carvalaheira, approximately two minutes drive from the small village of Cadima which is five minutes drive from the small city of Cantenhede, right in the middle of the Bairrada wine growing region. The nearby beach of Praia Tocha is a fifteen minute drive away. The beach here, has spectacular golden sand dunes, uninterrupted National Park for 20 Kms to the North and South, and plenty of space to be on your own, even in the peak summer holiday season. The Portuguese holiday here. You can discover for yourself why they want to keep it to themselves.

The villages of Carvalaheira and Camida are traditional wine and fruit growing areas, where people work on their smallholdings, and are never too busy to exchange a friendly greeting.

Every room of Casa Martina boasts spectacular uninterrupted views across fields and woods to the surrounding hamlets, yet the nearby town of Cantenhede, with shops, banks, municipal market, bars, restaurants, cafes, and three large supermarkets is only a five minute drive away. The River beach of Olhos De Fervenca, with sunbathing and cool swimming and a selection of food stalls and cafes is only a five minute drive away too.

The small market town of Tocha is also a seven minute car ride away and has a selection of fresh produce stalls and a co-operative that sells some of the best value meats, wines and beers that you will find in Portugal. Stock up for a Barbie on the patio at the back of the house and watch the sun go down with a glass of vino verde or two. There is also a huge weekly Sunday market that is well worth attending.

Around the area there are a number of small excellent cafes and restaurants that provide inexpensive food and fine wines.
