Guest House, Bed & Breakfast accommodation near Serpins. Two double bedrooms, one with en suite shower room, the other with private bathroom.

Casa das Pedras Grandes mixes traditional crafts and design with modern materials and technology, to make a comfortable and attractive home. For the comfort of our 'off season' guests we have wood fired central heating, with radiators in all rooms. The surrounding countryside is a mixture of pine and scented eucalyptus forests, which cover the hills and mountains in a carpet of green. Attractive villages and towns enable visitors to relax and experience rural Portuguese life and the local cuisine. There are also plenty of opportunities to exercise, by either walking or cycling along the numerous cross country tracks, or by enjoying a swim from the Praia fluvial (river beaches) in the summer.

The guest accommodation comprises of two large double bedrooms and a comfortable guest lounge and dining area.

The first floor bedroom has a balcony overlooking the enclosed courtyard and swimming pool. A table and chairs are provided to enjoy the wonderful views of wooded hillsides and some incredible sunsets during the summer. It has it's own private bathroom, including bath and shower just outside the room. This bedroom opens out into a short curtained landing which leads to the guest lounge and dining area.

The ground floor bedroom has an en-suite shower room and enjoys views of the courtyard, small swimming pool and the wooded ridges that surround the house. There is a table and chairs for a private morning coffee or tea and those all important post cards. The bedroom windows have internal shutters which provide privacy and exclude all but the smallest amount of light. This room opens out into the main dining area and is very convenient for the courtyard.

A radio/cd player and hairdryer are provided in each room. The rooms will be made up on a daily basis and bedding and towels changed weekly, unless guests request other arrangements.

You can relax in the guest lounge, where there is a TV with dvd and English freeview satellite channels, a fridge for that cold glass of wine and tea and filter coffee making facilities. Or you can just sit with a drink and enjoy the scenery.

A Laptop computer is provided, as a research and information tool for our guests to use, whether it be for property hunting or information to plan days out. It is also available to enable communication, via email, Skype or Windows messenger, for those that wish to contact Property agents or check on travel details. The dedicated Portuguese pay-as-you-go mobile phone, is for our guests to help keep costs down, when ringing Portuguese mobile or landline numbers.

If guests prefer not to drive, we can provide transport in our 5 seater combi van, for days or evenings out and to and from the local train station or airports. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Other areas and facilities which are available for your use are, the enclosed and private courtyard with small swimming pool and BBQ area. (The pool is 1.44m/4’9” deep and unfortunately not suitable for young children) Sun loungers are available and towels for use in the courtyard can be provided.

Meals (If Available):
A continental style breakfast of, cereals, yoghurts ,fruit, fresh bread and rolls, meats, cheeses, tea and filter coffee and fruit juice is offered..

Vegetarian meals can be arranged on request.

Extras (if any):
We have detailed maps of the local area and beyond, to help plan days out and will happily pass on any local knowledge that may be helpful.

It is recommended that guests hire a car if not driving their own, but transport can be arranged, either with local taxis (when available) or in our 5 seater combi van, for days or evenings out locally and to and from the local train station or airports. The accommodation is for 4 guests, but a camp style bed for a child to sleep in the room with their parents can be made up for a small supplement. Please email to discuss your requirements.

We can offer laundry facilities for a small charge and there is an iron and ironing board for guest use.
