Go back in time and experience real Portuguese life with us (the owners) and our two Portuguese neighbours. This is an ideal opportunity to relax, house hunt or take part in the local activities.
Your self catering accommodation is set in an idyllic valley overlooking the Serra da Lousa.
Large fully fitted kitchen diner leading onto patio area overlooking organic fruit/vegetable garden including grape vines and olive trees.
Large living area with DVD player and a vast selection of movies and documentaries.
2 bedrooms accommodates 4 people, 1 twin / 1 double (bed linen supplied). Small wet room, (towels & basic toiletries included).
Complimentary food parcel supplied on arrival, made up of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, butter, cheese, wine, beer, seasonal fruit & vegetables, bottled spring water & freshly baked local bread.
Use of large cobbled courtyard, 4 burner gas barbeque and garden seating.
The owners live in a separate house opposite, the two properties are linked by a walled courtyard.
Local activities:-
From the end of the train line at Serpins (5 km away) travel on the air conditioned train to Lousa and enjoy its markets (Tuesdays and Saturdays).
Continue your journey to the University City of Coimbra, tour the City on an open top bus.
Change trains at Coimbra and visit the beach at Figueira da Foz or links to Porto and Lisbon.
Other activities include the Serpins river beach or the gorge, dive/jump from the rocks up to 15 meters high. Horse riding, fishing, hangliding, white water rafting and go-karting or enjoy 7 km of forest walks right outside your backdoor.
During the winter months try your hand at skiing at the Serra da Estrella ski resort.
Guide books and phrase books available along with tourist information.
Price includes gas and electricity.
Travel time from the Airports:- Just 1.5 hours drive from Porto and 2.5 hours from Lisbon.
Prices in euros:
March - May: 260
June - September: 360
October - February: 200 excluding wood.
Payment terms: 50% by bank transfer required to secure bookings, balance on departure.
Meals:
Evening meals available on week days with 24 hours notice, 2 courses at 8 euros a head. English, Portuguese, vegetarian and Indian cuisine.
Long term rentals:
425 euros per month inc. electric, gas and water. Wood for the log burner is extra.
