Selfcatering, Longterm Cottage

Located in unspoilt rolling countryside on the edge of a small village in the Beiras region of Portugal, this rustic single-storey cottage is simply but comfortably furnished in Portuguese style.

The cottage comprises two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a living/dining room, well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. From the spacious split-level, south-facing terrace the panoramic views of the hills are spectacular. Patio furniture, parasols and BBQ provided.

Immediately behind the cottage is a vast pine/eucalyptus forest – ideal for extended walks. Two river beaches can also be easily reached on foot.

Situated on the edge of a small village the location offers tranquillity, without isolation.

Basic needs can be met in the village, but supermarkets offering a wider selection, post office, bank, chemist etc. are only a short drive away in São Martinho.

The larger market towns of Poiares and picturesque Arganil are less than half an hour’s drive away.

Coimbra, Portugal’s oldest university city, Conimbriga, a superb Roman settlement, and other places of cultural interest and natural beauty (e.g. the magnificent forested national park of Buçaco with its historical palace - today a 5* hotel) can also be reached by car within 45 minutes.

Meals (If Available):
Bread delivered to the door daily, if requested. Mobile fresh fish shop 2x weekly. Good, family-run restaurant 15 minutes on foot through the eucalyptus trees.

Extras (if any):
River beaches 15 and 25 minutes away on foot. Endless walks through the eucalyptus/pine forest. Bedlinen and towels provided. Hairdryer. CD player. Laundry/cleaning service available if required (prices on request). Good road access and ample parking space directly behind cottage.

Prices in euros:
1st April til 30th June: 350 per week
1st July til 31st August: 450 per week
1st Sept til 31st October: 350 per week
1st November til 31st March 2009: 250 per week.

longterm
Winter Let - 1 Oct-31 March: €525 per month - (inc. broadband adsl internet and heating).
Rest of year longterm by negotiation.
