Tastefully renovated stone cottage nestled high up in the Ceira valley in the tiny hamlet of Salgado, surrounded by dramatic and unspoilt mountainous countryside. A perfect and quiet romantic rural retreat: clean air and healthy living at its best!
15 kilometres from the market towns of Gois and of Arganil, and an hour's drive from the historic city of Coimbra. Situated in dramatic and unspoilt mountainous countryside. A perfect and quiet rural retreat. Clean air and healthy living at its best! Ideally suited for walkers, ramblers and wildlife enthusiasts, or anyone who simply wants to get away from it all.
Downstairs is an open airy kitchen / dining room, incorporating a beautiful exposed rock wall, and containing a hob and oven, table and chairs, fridge freezer and a wood burner (firewood available for a small surcharge). A traditional slate staircase leads upstairs to living / bedroom with a sofa that turns into twin beds, and en-suite bathroom with shower and wc. Both floors have doors to outside.
The Guesthouse also has night storage heaters for those chilly winter nights.
Bar-b-que provided and private south east facing patio and garden with table and chairs.
Pets welcome.
Prices in UK pounds sterling:
1 March - 1 October: 165 per week. or 27.50 per night.
1 October - 1 March: 137.50 per week, or 22 per night.
7 day minimum booking.
Meals:
Quality home cooked meals available on request. And precooked frozen meals are available at 6 euros each (nearest restaurant about 7km).
Extras:
The owner lives in the same small village, and can provide cooking lessons.
Barbecue provided.
South east facing patio with table and chairs.
Change of sheets & towels on request.
Use of nearby young orchard with fruit trees. Covered sitting area with wonderful view near a stream. Relax, and let the gentle sound of running water wash away your worries!
Winter Let:
Possible, please enquire. The cottage has a wood burner & night storage heaters for the colder months.
