In the beautiful countryside of Beira Alta, nestled between two rivers; the Mondego and the Alva. In the background lies the Serra da Estrela, a magnificent unspoilt mountain range (20 mins by car) where one can ski in the winter.

The quinta is only 4km from Oliveira do Hospital, a small country town, where you will find all necessary facilities, such as banks, shops, restaurants, an internet cafe, etc. The rooms, 3 doubles and 1 single, are located in the old buildings, constructed out of huge granite stones, typical of the area. Up on the hill are two cabanas (cabins) for the purists, one has a double bedroom and one has a twin bedroom.

Activities: Horseback riding; Canoeing and swimming (in the rivers Mondego and Alva - 15 min, in the Atlantic Ocean - approx. 90 min); Local Markets where you can eat the famous 'Piri-Piri' chicken; Golf - approx. 70 min; Hiking and country walks; Restaurants and visits to wine estates (this is the Dao region).

Cities: Coimbra (1 hour) is the oldest university city and famous for it's 'fado' music; Viseu (1 hour) is a lovely old Portuguese city which has a nice antique market on Saturday; Porto is 2.5 hours; and Lisbon 3.5 hours.
