More than just a caravan!

Spacious 3-berth caravan (two single beds or one very large double) plus large awning and additional outside kitchen and dining terrace. Fridge, hot shower, CD player, compost loo-with-a-view.

Beautifully quiet, private and expansive situation - ideal for retreat. Spectacular views of the Serra da Estrela and Açor mountains. 5 minutes from the magnificent river Mondego. Nearest town Tabua (7Km) or Oliveira do Hospital (13Km).

Quinta das Estrelas is the home of Suma and Dave Starkie and is situated in a rural area of peasant farming close to the river Mondego which runs out to the sea through Coimbra. The quinta (small farm) is on south facing terraces of vines, olive trees and massive rocks of crystal-studded granite. We look out on the Estrela mountains, Portugal's highest. The view is breath-takingly expansive. All who visit find it a peaceful and relaxing place and leave nourished and replenished. You can take swims in the river or dip in our pool, sleep out under the stars at night and sun-bathe by day, you can breathe good clean air and listen to the silence (peppered by crickets, frogs and birds) - and stretch and sing to your heart's content!

Detox with Juice Fasting.
This is an extra service we offer. As we have much organic food, especially fruit, at certain times of the year, you would not only be in perfectly peaceful rural surroundings, but would benefit from fresh picked organic food grown on the spot. September is the best time for fresh grape juice fasting, though we do have our own bottled grape juice throughout the year. The extra charge for food is negotiable depending on the season and what's available. The juicer is provided. We are both experienced therapists and are available for support if desired.
